L'objectif principal de cet atelier est de lier la modélisation physique avec des mesures objectives tenant compte de la perception humaine des événements auditifs. Ce sujet est important pour le développement d’enceintes reproduisant un son à haut rendement et d'une qualité sonore suffisante.

The main objective this workshop is to link physical modeling with objective measurements considering the human perception of auditory events. This topic is important for the development of small, light and cost‐effective loudspeakers reproducing the sound at high efficiency and sufficient sound quality.
The generation of signal distortion is modeled by linear, nonlinear and time‐variant systems with lumped and distributed parameters. New measurement techniques based on those models are presented which assess electro‐acoustical systems while reproducing test signals and music as well. The relationship between distortion and other symptoms of the large signal behavior, their physical causes and design choices and the impact on the perceived sound quality is discussed to derive meaningful specifications which simplify the communication between engineering in R&D and manufacturing,marketing andmanagement,suppliers and customers.
The new methods and diagnostic tools are illustrated on loudspeakers used in telecommunication, portable audio applications, multi‐media, automotive and professional applications.
